Are you getting help with accessing food?: "Hi as a single parent I had been struggling to buy food for myself and my daughter since my partner had left a couple of years ago but have always been to embarrassed to apply for free school meals and still do not receive them. However when the first lockdown started things got even worse as the shops were virtually empty and as I have other health conditions I was afraid to leave home. It was my daughter that contacted young carers through a group she attends and they put us in touch with a food bank that now brings us a food parcel weekly which I really could not do without, this makes a huge difference to both of us. Now with brexit coming fast and the possibility of food prices increasing it is going to get a lot harder for many more people to be able to provide fresh healthy food for themselves and there families."
