whilst waiting on my first UC payment i had been advised i could apply for discretionary support, i was awarded £500 for myself and my child for food only they wouldnt allow for rent debts due to no income or any other costs. this will be going towards my rent so that i dont fall behind. Still waiting to hear back from the housing grant that i was also told about that meets the rest of my rent costs because i wont get the full costs due to being in a 3 bed and only needing 2 rooms. funny that when there is no 2 bed homes in the area seems you get caught in many catches that deduct your support.
