Q. If you're on benefits, have you felt pushed into work? If you're in paid employment, what’s it been like for you?
My son has global developmental delays and low functioning autism. I'm his full-time career, so I'm not expected to look for work, which is understandable because life's hard enough. You know, he takes a lot of time off school because he doesn't sleep. He has a lot of medical appointments because he also has chronic kidney disease. So he would be seen by urology and surgical like patients. Then he would also be seen by speech therapy, occupational therapy and the autism clinic. So, I'm not expected to look for work because basically I'm not very reliable.
