So in short, whilst I'm grateful for the vouchers, a direct payment into one's bank account as they do with cold weather payments would be a more equitable approach. But of course the powers that be don't want to do this as they don't trust us to make the right decisions, believing that those in receipt of benefits will just spend it all on booze and fags rather than food for the kids. They may not say it directly, but that is the implication.
