In Northern Ireland we still have restrictions on public transport. My daughter started secondary school in August and whilst we have had a few glitches we have managed. So close to Christmas I was concerned when the bus drove straight past her and I at full capacity. The next bus was not until 1 hour later. On Universal Credit every penny counts. I had no choice to get my daughter a private taxi. We were soaked as it was lashing and the taxi collected my daughter at the bus stop and not the house as she was too cold and wet to walk home. I never worried about money as much as I do now. I always watched my penny's on Income Support but this is a whole different ball game. I literally cannot afford to keep up with transport payments to school which has been affected by Covid and new restrictions. I do not think the government has considered this.
