My son is autistic and so, his interests are very narrow. He wanted to go to our nearest beach, as we live on the coast. I don't mind because it's free and he loves learning about nature... this is the only way I have managed to do any home learning with him as he won't sit with me and do literacy, numeracy, etc. It's just not the place we do this stuff. Anyway, as we drove through the town with the beach, there were hundreds of daytrippers and not a spit of land left to park on safely. I could see him getting anxious and upset even though I'd warned him it might happen. We decided not to stop and moved on to somewhere we'd not been before. Actually, it was better than the first beach, which is a small mercy.
