The outrage in the news about the Christmas 2020 Downing Street party has got so many people, including myself, furious. I can’t believe how many sacrifices we had to make to stay safe, while those in charge flouted rules in the most obnoxious way. I think lots of people have lost trust in our leader and government, and I’m not sure how he or they will recover from this. I am angry that I was made to stay away from my family while others partied. Unfortunately, the timing of the birth of Boris Johnson’s’ new baby will likely out shadow this in the news, and it will be another thing they “got away with”. While this has been front lining, there has been escalating concern about the new omricon variant and the talks of further restrictions needing to be put in place. It’s a sad and worrying time but I am trying to stay positive because otherwise my depression and anxiety will get the better of me. I really hope the variant doesn’t take hold and we aren’t put into further restrictions, but I cannot worry about something which I can’t control. All I can do right now is try and keep my loved ones as safe as possible
