Received the £140 winter fuel payment from the energy company on card with a letter explaining to take the card to the post office to activate then the £140 would be added to my energy account. The main post office based within a convenience store closed at beginning of pandemic. I walked to sub post office 3 miles away on outskirts of the town in a petrol station. Stood for 25mins outside in the cold as petrol station has a limit of how many inside the shop. The sub post office did not have a pay point machine to allow the card to be activated. I was advised to drive to next closest post office which is 11 miles away. I do not drive.
