So much of being on universal credit (even job seekers back in the day) is about waiting. Waiting for the next statement, the next pay day, the next check up (aka phone call from coach during lockdown, out if lockdown it'll mean visiting the job centre every two weeks to sing n dance about applications and such). Waiting for replies from job applications. Waiting for new bill letters so you can plan which bills can be paid or skipped each month. Waiting for the stress to ebb. Spoiler, it never ebbs, just a constant pulsing tension. Like a heartbeat of insecurity in your gut that you have to learn to live with. The price we have to pay for daring to be unsuccessful in a capitalist economy.
