The mass consumerism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday has just passed. My vacuum cleaner is 17 years old. Although it’s working, bits are falling off it much like the rented house we live in (for an astronomical price) and in some ways also reflects the state of my mental health at times. Not to worry, I will soon be the owner of a second hand one. Kindly passed from a family friend, who was easily able to make use of the Black Friday deals in replacing a perfectly functional machine
