I am SO glad the diaries are back open, it’s very much needed. It allows me to work through my feelings. So my covid reality this week is stress. It’s only 36 days until Christmas, I’ve hardly been able to get anything for my sons and I am worrying about the whole Christmas dinner. I really don’t want to have to serve up cheap processed crap food but it’s looking ever more likely that’s what will be happening. How do you make Christmas special for kids when their expectations are what the tv adverts portray - the big flashy meal, all the fancy desserts, piles of glittery wrapped presents! How do you explain to them that Santa is real and doesn’t think they are “naughty” and that’s not why they didn’t get any of the cool things on their lists?? Christmas is too much.
