Q. What would you ask or say to politicians?
Hi, I would like to ask them to seriously look into what help and support there is for families living on a low income. I am a single parent father and I am extremely concerned about the future for my daughter. I am unable to send her to swimming lessons or most after school clubs due to the cost. During the lockdown she has had very limited contact with the outside world except on Zoom with a young carers group. I feel that once restrictions are eased she will again find it difficult to feel that she fits in and does not have the opportunities that a lot of other people her age have. They must be made to understand the real problems many families face having to choose between eating a healthy diet and being able to switch the heating on in order to keep warm in the winter. My daughter is in need of school uniform but this means cutting back on other essential items in order to be able to afford the cost. This pandemic must of shown the government that many families are seriously struggling to have even a reasonable quality of life and the long term problems this is causing for our children.
