However my grandson who is 8 has had to have one. We were able to get an appointment the day we rang for one. Because of his age he was terrified to get the test on the back of his throat and after over half an hour of trying to coax him his mum gave up. When she came home and rang the doctor they said because of his age just his nose was enough but the people at the test centre hadn’t told her that. She was able to get a new test the next day and lucky the test came back negative.
