Q. If you're on benefits, have you felt pushed into work? If you're in paid employment, what’s it been like for you?
I am fortunate to be in full time work, but I do claim Universal Credit. They leave me alone as I earn enough to keep them happy. However, I know from my job, which is working to support people who claim benefits (not as part of the DWP) that recently our queries have been going up in relation to conditionality. It definitely seems to be the case that job centres are now pushing claimants to do more with the threat of sanctions if not. I fear that this will become a massive issue for benefit claimants once furlough ends.
