Q. What did you think about the new budget? Thoughts on the £20 uplift extension, or what was missing?
hi, I felt I couldn't even really watch it fully because there's just so little focus on what really needs to change. There's no uplift to services that support us in lower income brackets and those of us in particular with children with additional needs. Councils aren't offering any additional support at the moment. And it was depressing really to see that out of billions or millions, that to support other areas in the UK, that the vast majority of those are not here, not in the north. Or certainly won't impact us anyway in terms of local economic support. The Universal Credit uplift it is just. I agree with someone who on here said it's just prolonging the inevitable. And we can't live like, once the school voucher scheme goes and kids are back at school, I won't have that additional money to add to my shopping so that will squeeze me. And it just feels pretty hopeless this week.
