"Found out today that my elderly neighbour had a stroke and is in hospital and likely not going to leave. I have actually never felt so sick with COVID than I am today as I can’t visit her - she visited my Gran when she was dying and cheered her up and yet COVID has taken away our chance to do the same. It’s heartbreaking as a woman who is loved so much by our neighbourhood and who would normally get tons of visitors can only be seen by her immediate family. You forget just how much COVID and the restrictions it brings can impact people until it hits close to home. It brings with it the fear that, with restrictions, there are so many people with limited visitors at the hospital. I just feel so useless as all you can do is pass on messages of love and support through the family."
