So two weeks to go until Christmas and I have had my work's Christmas Party already - no ill effects either from viruses or social faux pas. I wore my mask on public transport, and getting to and from my table. Plenty people didn't. And as the evening flowed, fewer and fewer people wore theirs too. These were people who clearly could wear masks but then chose/forgot to. The virus will spread. As indeed it needs to - it needs to become just another virus, like flu. But until we get to that stage (where there is less pressure on the NHS and fewer deaths), people will suffer. Not just from the virus directly, but through loss of jobs, through mental health deteriorating.

I am doing well. I am still a lucky one who is on UC and in work. We have done best out of the policies from this government. And I still know this is only temporary because in 6mths times when my rent goes up, when my utilities go up, then I will be the same as those not benefiting from the UC changes. But I also know they will also be in a worse position.

The cost of living is rising all around me. That is my personal biggest fear for the future. Right now, and for Christmas, I am doing well. And for the moment that is what I will think of.

Merry Christmas to you all!
